“His Mercies Are New Every Morning!” These were golden words spelled out on a field of flowers! No – I wasn’t having a vision! They were imprinted on a beautifully golden framed picture. I was actually in a store in the children’s department looking for clothes for my grandchildren. On one of the shelves in the midst of newborn and toddler clothes stood the artwork displayed below. It was a treasure that I didn’t expect to find but one that I went home with. Later on in the evening, it would made a big impact on my heart through the words of a friend.

First – the above scripture taken from the Book of Lamentations – Chapter 3:23. However, below are two more verses added…..Chapter 3:22-24
“The favors of Yahweh are not all past, His kindnesses are not exhausted;
every morning they are renewed; great is His faithfulness.
My portion is Yahweh says my soul and so I will hope in Him.”
Words such as “favors, kindnesses, renewed, faithfulness” and most of all “hope” are all spelled out so clearly like diamonds to be set embedded into one’s heart instead of a setting on a ring. But then again, isn’t Jesus our Bridegroom?
I was so reminded of this last night when a dear friend, Ana…responded to an email that I sent out to our prayer group sharing the picture and the scripture.

Beauty Handed Over to Us
“His kindnesses are not exhausted; every morning they are renewed.” They surely are every morning but sometimes we need to be reminded!
Ana texted me late last night with the following words,
“Oh, how our Lord presents beauty to you in every encounter!”
Her words struck me like a lightening flash that resulted in a flow of tears. Did I get that yesterday in the store when I caught sight of this gift? I had only gone a few steps with the picture in my cart when I met a friend which she spotted immediately!
“Anita! You got this here! – “Oh my – with Divine Mercy on Sunday – it’s such perfect timing!”
I certainly agreed and went on my way to the check out, however, I believe “I checked out in my mind” until I received Ana’s text last night.
Did I realize that the Lord “presented His beauty” to me in the middle of an ordinary shopping experience?
I was surely out to lunch in my mind but most importantly in my heart until those words rang a bell to “wake up “Anita!” You just received a gift from Heaven….a very tangible and concrete one of His Love! It was not tagged with a price but with His Love and a most beautiful message of Hope.
Isn’t that what Divine Mercy is all about?

His Eternal Love and Mercy
This would not be a normal written post from this blogger if I didn’t include words from “He and I.” This is what I read this morning – the day after the gift was received….
“Oh this desire of My eternal love for oneness. I begin My life on earth again with each one of you – My life wedded to yours – if you want to invite Me. You remember how I walked with the disciples of Emmaus?….I do this for you. I walk along the same path with you, that path that I chose for you from all eternity – in this family, in this country where you live.
It is I who placed you there with a special love. So live there, full of faith, remembering that there is where you will win Heaven, where you will win eternal love for this brief moment in time…So pass through this life with the great desire to respond to all My tenderness and with constant impatience to know Me at last. To know your Loving Savior. Haven’t you always been a thought in My eternal mind? It would be only just for yours to be filled with Me, My poor little children, so often ungrateful.”

Divine Mercy Spelled Out
Was I ungrateful for the gift received yesterday? I don’t think so. I truly believe it was part of the plan of Jesus to make known “His Beauty” through the “response” of a friend’s love for me and her joy in what I had received. She acknowledged the gift like an arrow and aimed it right for my heart. Mission accomplished. Jesus tells Gabrielle….
“Sometimes I stand at the door waiting even before you call Me. Do you remember this or that danger you escaped? And you believed it all happened by itself.
Nothing happens by itself. So never lose sight of My watchful, kindly providence. And thank Me for My invisible care. My love loves to plan for you and does everything for your good.
In this hour of agony for your country, see My infinite quest for souls. I am like a hunter who would let himself be wounded to death in order to lure His coveted prey. I am the one who has caught the leprosy from the leper he loves. I have suffered all things, for I have known all things.
I have atoned for everything. I the pure One, by My blood which flowed drop by drop.
Then let no one be afraid to come to Me.
The great sinner will know the joy of being pressed to my wide-open heart.
But let him come without any fear;
it’s easy enough if he keeps his mind on Me rather than himself….
And it will be his path of peace.
Go with your prayerfulness and find sinners for Me. Go and Seek them.”

St. Faustina and Message of Divine Mercy
In a series of revelations to St. Maria Faustina Kowalska in the 1930s, our Lord called for a special feast day to be celebrated on the Sunday after Easter. Today, we know that feast as Divine Mercy Sunday. The Divine Mercy message is one we can call to mind simply by remembering ABC:
A – Ask for His Mercy. God wants us to approach Him in prayer constantly, repenting of our sins and asking Him to pour His mercy out upon us and upon the whole world.
B – Be merciful. God wants us to receive His mercy and let it flow through us to others. He wants us to extend love and forgiveness to others just as He does to us.
C – Completely trust in Jesus. God wants us to know that all the graces of His mercy can only be received by our trust. The more we open the door of our hearts and lives to Him with trust, the more we can receive.

A Field of Flowers
We are those flowers in the field….we bloom best in the light of the “Son”.….and wait expectantly for His Mercies and His Love. St. Faustina further expounds upon being absorbed in whirlwinds of busyness.
“Jesus loves hidden souls.
A hidden flower is the most fragrant.
I must strive to make the interior of my soul
a resting place for the heart of Jesus.”
“I will not allow myself to be so absorbed in the whirlwind of
work as to forget about God.”
I didn’t get the “love memo” yesterday from Jesus. Yes, I was drawn to the flowers and the scenery in the picture but it was only through Ana who would wake up my heart that Jesus was surrounding me with His Beauty. I was so “absorbed” in a whirlwind of getting things done…..I missed the “Giver of the Gifts” and His Love for me.
Approaching the Throne of Mercy
Tomorrow is a day like no other….let us not miss this great opportunity! Let nothing hold us back from approaching the Throne of Mercy.
“On this day, the very depths of My mercy are open. . .the soul that will go to Confession and receive Holy Communion shall obtain complete forgiveness of sins and punishment” (Diary 699, 1109, 300)

This blog is incredibly beautiful! Thank you, dear Anita.
How clearly you show us Our Lord’s infinite love and mercy for us, His presence with us and His plan for every detail of our lives. We truly need to open our eyes and ears and find Him in the moments of each day…in all we encounter and all we do. He wants us to see Him in everything and to trust where He takes us…He wants to give us so much…if only we trust in Him.
Author! Author! You and Jesus write so well together!
That was SO reassuring. Thank you. I want to be his wildflower and bloom where He planted me. It was helpful to see that He placed me here- my being was not random but desired. A most consoling, encouraging thought. If He planted me, He will “garden me”, and cultivate me. I feel I can rest easier now and let Him grow me. What a relief! Flimsy little weedy wildflower me is wanted and I have a place in His garden.
Hallelujah!!!
OH YES FRANCES! HE’S LAVISHING YOU WITH HIS FERTILIZER OF LOVE THAT CAN ONLY MAKE A SOUL GROW MORE LIKE HIM!
COME BACK TO BLOGGING – WE NEED YOU!
