The 2025 Jubilee Year offers the faithful the opportunity to obtain a plenary indulgence, which is the full remission of temporal punishment due to sins already forgiven. To acquire this indulgence, the following conditions must be met:
- State of Grace: Be free from mortal sin at the time of performing the indulgenced work.
- Mass and Eucharistic Communion: Partake in Mass and Holy Communion, preferably on the same day as the indulgenced act.
- Sacramental Confession: Receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation within about 20 days before or after completing the indulgenced act.
- Prayer for the Pope’s Intentions: Pray for the intentions of the Holy Father, typically fulfilled by reciting an Our Father, Hail Mary, and Glory Be.
- Detachment from All Sin: Maintain a sincere disposition of complete detachment from sin, even venial sin.
The indulgence can be applied either to oneself or offered for the souls in Purgatory.
