Yes, this blog is dedicated to the “One” I love! The “one” who loves “you,” loves everything about “you” and breathed life into your soul and mine.
Today, we turn the calendar to another month! The month of June! It is the month of the Sacred Heart of Jesus!
A month filled with beautiful feast days in the Catholic Church. Pentecost – The Most Holy Trinity – The Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ – The Sacred Heart of Jesus and The Immaculate Heart of Mary. Many, many Saint’s feast days also fill the calendar month of June. They are too numerous to list here, however, St. Anthony leads the pack of notable intercessors for us.
I love, love the month of June for so many reasons but mainly for “His Sacred Heart” . . .and so yes, this blog, is dedicated to the one I love but the one who loves all of us! And . . .most importantly wants to be “loved back.”

The Heart Sings Out
I know I am dating myself here. . .but I would imagine some of you reading this blog right now will remember a very old song. It was a song written by Lowman Pauling and Ralph Bass. It was a hit for the “5” Royales, the Shirelles, the Mamas and the Papas and Bitty McLean.” The original version of the song was produced by Bass in 1957.
The lyrics that made this precious song so popular and sung by so many well known artists:
Life can never be exactly like we want it to be
I can be satisfied just knowing you love me
There’s one thing I want you to do especially for me
And it’s something that everybody needs. . .
Each night before you go to bed, my baby
Whisper a little prayer for me, my baby
And tell all the stars above
This is dedicated to the one I love

Knowing He Loves Us
Last night “7” of us attended a Mass celebrated at Our Lady of Hope Church “In Thanksgiving to Our Lady of Pompeii of the Holy Rosary.” It was our way of thanking the Blessed Mother for graces received after completing a 54 Day Rosary Novena. However, we were given a “gift” that was not expected but joyously received by each of us.
The celebrant was “Fr. Daniel Griffin,” who is a Chaplain at Kellenberg Memorial High School. He poignantly presented to us in his homily of how much Jesus “loves us.” The reading for the Gospel for Sunday, June 1st, 2025 is taken from “John 17:20-26.”
In this gospel, Jesus lifts us His eyes to the Heavens, “to the stars” – telling His Father how much He loves us.

We are Gift
Fr. Griffin read to the congregation the following:
“Lifting up His eyes to Heaven, Jesus prayed, saying –
“Holy Father, I pray not only for them, but also for those who will believe in me through their word, so that they may all be one, as you, Father, are in me and I in you, that they also may be in us, that the world may believe that you sent me.
And I have given them the glory you gave me, so that they may be one, as we are one, I in them and you in me, that they may be brought to perfection as one, that the world may know that you sent me, and that you loved them even as you loved me.
Father, they are your gift to me!”
“We” are “Gift” to Jesus Christ – Creator of the World. . .King of the Universe – the God-Man who came down to earth to save our souls dying on the Cross. Those words resonated in my soul. Here we were – 7 of us – called forth to give thanksgiving to God’s Holy Mother. Instead – we received a “gift”!!! Fr. Griffin must have read that line of holy scripture a few times so it sunk into our hearts as a living prayer.
“Father, they are your gift to me!”

Sprinkling Love
Yes, seven of us were “sprinkled with love” in a most beautiful way. Fr. Griffin wore a beautiful vestment with Our Lady of Hope embroidered on the silken fabric. At the end of the Mass we sang the Regina Caeli in honor of the feast day yesterday of the Visitation.
The celebration of this Mass touched my heart so profoundly. This morning I would have to imagine that the Holy Spirit placed in my heart the song – “This is Dedicated to the One I Love.”
I just wanted to thank Jesus on this first day of June – to surprise Him with love even though I have a terrible singing voice. I wanted to thank Him for every living moment He has given to me – whether it be sorrow or joy.
In the past two weeks, He and His Mother have brought onto my path in ways unimaginable – loving souls. Souls that I’ve never met before but clearly people that I have been meant to meet and befriend. Precious souls that have come here and prayed with me and shared their personal lives with my heart – exposing their own tender hearts. It is surely the month of the “Sacred Heart!”
Everything is “Gift” isn’t it. This is the month of “sprinkling love” for sure as we attend celebrations such as Confirmations, Weddings and Graduations. It is the month of celebrating “life” whether it be an anniversary, birthday or the birthing of a new baby into a family.
It all comes from the Heart of Jesus. . .and His Father and the Holy Spirit.
Always Thank Me!
I don’t think I could ever write a blog and leave out the teaching words that Jesus spoke to the heart of Gabrielle Bossis in the book, “He and I.”
In this passage, Gabrielle thanks Jesus for sparing her in a bombing nearby her home. Here is “His Words” to Gabrielle but also to us on this first day of the month of June:
“Always thank Me. I give you so much. If I were to give you a trial would you thank Me? You should.
I do everything for the good of souls. Never doubt this, and believe in My love. Hope in My love. Love My love. If you love my love you will welcome everything that comes from Me and you will act everywhere for Me. If you hope in My love, you will no longer count on yourself. You will expect My help in every difficult situation. You will think, “I can’t do anything, but there is nothing the Beloved can’t do.” And full of trust and peace you will take up your task of love again, happy to toil day and night to console Me.”

The Gift of Our Hearts
It surely is the month of “gift-giving” as mentioned above in all the celebrations that occur during this precious month of June. Let us all give “Him” our hearts!!!!
Yes! Let us dedicate our hearts to the “One” that loves us and that we should, too, pour our own love upon.
Jesus tells Gabrielle in another passage –
“Come closer, always closer. Give up everything that separates us – the lack of confidence and hope. It is a great thing to hope. Hope for holiness. Would I ask every soul to be holy if it were not possible? Very well then, believe in My help. Call me often, still more often. Don’t be afraid of being too insistent. Don’t you repeat the same prayer many times in the Rosary? You must persevere in your asking, poor finite one in the presence of the Infinite.
And unite your words with the words I said to My Father in those nights spent on My knees in His presence. Let it be said of you,
“She is a friend of Christ”
The honor will be Mine and you will add to my glory.”

The heart of Jesus is the Center of Mercy,
from which springs forth the Grace that saves us and makes us new creations in Him.
St. John Paul II
New Creations
This blog is certainly dedicated to the “One” I love . . .and have been called to “Love.”
But I also dedicate it to all those that I hold in my own heart – the heart that the Lord created to love others in a tremendous way.
You all know who you are!
However, I dedicate it also to the loving souls that were brought into my life in a most special divine way – in the last two weeks.
To Ana, Isabel, Kristen, Lisa, Adele, Susan and Dr. Luigi Bassani….
I also dedicate this blog to the “loving heart of Nick” – my precious friend of over 30 years who is now getting ready to journey home to the “One” he has loved his whole life and manifested that love so beautifully of Jesus to others in his very being and presence.
That’s what it is all about – isn’t it?
And tell all the Stars above

One Response
Yes, Anita, I remember the song and I will never listen to it with the same “ears!” You’ve given it a whole new meaning…a very beautiful one! Jesus loves us infinitely. How sad that so many do not know it or feel His love for them. I pray that we all come to feel His love for us and be forever grateful for everything.
Thank you for opening our spiritual eyes and ears.
