Fr. Mark Beard, pastor of St. Helena Catholic Church in Amite, Louisiana, tragically passed away in a car accident on August 2, 2023. He was a beloved priest, a passionate preacher, a man in love with what he called “Holy Mother Church.” He will be greatly missed, as he was a powerful light for so many, but our faith tells us that his light is shining even more now. 

Exactly thirteen years ago on August 2nd, Christine Watkins posted an interview with Fr. Beard titled “Fr. Mark Beard travelled to Medjugorje as an angry skeptic…” which can be found here. As you may read in the interview, Fr. Mark had way with words and a wonderful wit.
